New Bauhaus

The Institute of Design (ID) is a graduate school of the Illinois Institute of Technology, a private university in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The Institute of Design was founded in 1937 as "The New Bauhaus" by László Moholy-Nagy, a Bauhaus teacher (taught: 1923–1928). This school is a direct American descendant of the German Bauhaus. The school focuses on systemic and human-centered design with the following graduate-level degree programs: Master of Design (MDes) Master of Design + MBA (MDes + MBA) Master of Design & Master of Public Administration (MDes + MPA) Master of Design Methods (MDM) PhD in Design
