Tim Berg

Tim Bergling (8 September 1989 – 20 April 2018), known professionally as Avicii, was a Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer. He is known as an influence on many artists, and several music publications have credited Bergling as one of the DJs who brought electronic music to Top 40 radio in the early 2010s. He is also considered one of the most popular and successful Electronic dance music (EDM) genre artists of all time. He began posting remixes on electronic music forums at the age of 16, and in May 2007 was signed by Dejfitts Plays label. He rose to prominence in 2011 with his single "Levels". His debut studio album, True (2013), blended electronic music with elements of multiple genres and received generally positive reviews. It peaked in the top 10 in more than 15 countries and topped international charts; the lead single, "Wake Me Up", topped the charts in over 20 countries, reached number four in the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2015, he released the singles "Waiting for Love" and "Broken Arrows", which were included on his album Stories released in October. In 2017, he released the EP Avīci (01), which included the singles "Without You" and "Lonely Together", which reached number one and number three in Sweden, respectively. Bergling retired from touring in 2016, after several years of stress and poor mental health. In 2018, he died by suicide while on holiday in Muscat, Oman. His third and final album, Tim, was released posthumously in 2019 and reached number one on Billboard Top Dance Albums chart. His catalog also included the singles "Seek Bromance", "Silhouettes", "I Could Be the One" with Nicky Romero, "You Make Me", "X You", "Hey Brother", "Addicted to You", "The Days", "The Nights", "SOS" and "Heaven". Bergling has won four MTV Europe Music Awards, two International Dance Music Awards, one American Music Awards and one Billboard Music Awards. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on "Sunshine" with David Guetta in 2012 and "Levels" in 2013.
