Maritza Montero
Maritza Montero was a Venezuelan social psychologist and political scientist. She was a Professor and Program Director at the Central University of Venezuela. Her research focused on community psychology, political psychology, and liberation psychology, with a particular focus on Latin America. She had been the president of the International Society of Political Psychology. Dr. Montero died on July 23, 2025. She is remembered as a groundbreaking contributor to many psychological sub-disciplines including liberation psychology, community psychology, and political psychology.
