KPop Demon Hunters is a 2025 American animated musical urban fantasy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released by Netflix. It was directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans from a screenplay they co-wrote with the writing team of Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan, based on a story conceived by Kang. The soundtrack features original songs by several talents, and a score composed by Marcelo Zarvos. KPop Demon Hunters was released on June 20, 2025, on Netflix to critical acclaim, with praise for its animation, visual style, voice acting, writing, humor, emotional weight, and music. The film's soundtrack album also saw major success, reaching number one and top ten positions on multiple music and streaming charts.
